These pictures were taken around Grass Valley and Nevada City at the end of October.  Deciduous trees abound in Nevada County, making fall a fantastic time of the year.  The different trees "light up" at different times, so you have several months to take in the splendor.  Some trees are very old, planted back in the 1800s by the Cornish Miners - they are breath-taking.  Adding to them, thousands of fall color trees have been planted in the last 15 years.  There are so many varieties of yellows, oranges, and reds that it would take over 10,000 photos to do it justice.  The best thing to do, is to come up to Nevada County in the fall and see the fall colors firsthand.   Enjoy!
